North Wall CDP delivers the L.I.F.E. Sports Programme (the Learning In a Football Environment Course).
Our focus is to engage young learners in the NEIC and progress them to their chosen pathway, be it further education or employment. Our new 44-week courses commenced in September 2024.
The course is enhanced by digital tools, including a VEO camera, Match analysis software and GPS analytical equipment. We are working in collaboration with Bohemian Football Club (who provide course uniforms, guest speakers and club visit opportunities) and the National College of Ireland (who provide classroom facilities). Learners will also obtain Lifeguarding, First Aid and FAI qualifications. They will gain relevant expertise and top-class work experience in a variety of fields, inside the Sports, Football and Gym/Fitness industry.

Learners take part in daily football practice, gym training and themed classwork. QQI Level 5 is an accredited, industry entry-level course which is enhanced by the addition of RLSS Lifeguard and First Aid qualifications. Learners participate in multi-sport workshops and activity trips and have guest speakers. Those who meet the eligibility criteria get a training and meal allowance.
The courses are funded by CDETB under the Local Training Initiative (LTI) programme. Funding from REACH fund ensures that technology and digital analytical equipment are available to the learners, for example, GPS trackers and VEO camera. North Wall CDP have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bohemian’s F.C. which adds a further professional and development element. Our new Sports course has been renamed L.I.F.E. (Learning in a Football Environment).
The courses are located in the National College of Ireland (NCI) Learners recently joined with other college students to celebrate ‘Fresher’s Week’. It was a great experience and helped break down stereotypes on all sides.

In June 2019, we launched our first a year-long Sports and Recreation course for young adults. Since the two programmes have grown in strength This course was a great success and finished in July. Our training team at North Wall CDP, began a new course in September 2024.

What is it?
This is a 44-week Sports & Recreation course with eight training modules and daily gym and football sessions.
Who is it for?
Young adults aged under 35 years with an interest in Sports, Football, Gym and who want the routine of getting up and working every day. You must be currently receiving a social welfare payment.
What can I get from the course?
Our course will prepare you to move into full-time employment in the Sport & Leisure industry, Third level education and even setting up your own business through our QQI Sport & Recreation modules, Lifeguard and First Aid qualifications
What’s a typical day?
Registration, Gym class, QQI learning and Football.
What else can you expect?
Our course plays regular football matches against students on similar courses, local businesses and colleges. We also go on regular adventure outings such as kayaking, cliff jumping, cave walks, rock climbing.
What payment will I get for this course?
You will get a training allowance.
